Studio Director of Architecture

As the Associate Director / Studio Director, you will work closely with the Managing Director to streamline operations, ensuring the smooth running of the studio. This role offers the opportunity to shape and influence the growth trajectory of a dynamic studio, managing key aspects of the business including finance, legal, and administration, while supporting the MD's focus on business development and expansion across the Middle East.

Key Responsibilities

• Studio Operations: Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure efficient workflow and alignment with the company's goals and high design standards.
• Financial Management: Manage budgets, financial planning, and reporting to maintain the financial health of the studio.
• Legal and Contractual Oversight: Coordinate with legal teams to review contracts, ensure compliance, and manage risk.
• Administration and Resource Management: Supervise administrative functions, including HR, IT, and office management, ensuring the studio operates smoothly.
• Strategic Planning: Support the MD in setting and executing the studio's growth strategy, particularly in the Middle East market.
• Team Leadership: Foster a collaborative and high-performing studio culture, mentoring junior team members and ensuring alignment with company values.
• Client Relations: Occasionally step into a client-facing role to support the MD and represent the studio's interests.

Qualifications and Skills

• Degree in Architecture or Engineering (or related field).
• Significant experience in a leadership or operations role within a design-focused organization.
• Strong understanding of business operations, including finance, contracts, and administration.
• Proven ability to manage and support fast-growing teams while maintaining a commitment to quality and design excellence.
• Exceptional organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to prioritize and delegate effectively.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams.
• Experience in the Middle East market is highly desirable but not essential.
